Anyone that knows us well knows that our pets are a big part of our life. I'm actually a little disappointed as the initial idea was to have them at the wedding, this is just too difficult due to the location and not having the people power to bring them and then take them away. Also I think it would be incredibly stressful for them, so here is a page, completely dedicated to them, and in order of their coming into our lives, here they are.

Levi
Levi's story is a sweet and special one, he will always be closest to our hearts as he was our first pet together, and in many ways he brought us so much closer. We moved in together to look after him, and the sequence of events that have so far happened in his life made us make big decisions, both financial and emotional, and have really contributed to pointing us in the same direction in life.
After my little dog Amy died, shortly after I met Matt, I wanted a new doggy. At the time I was living with Erin and wanted a similar dog to Amy, small, sweet and fluffly.
On one of our many day trips, I took Matt out to Kellyville Pet Shop which was a past time of my growing up. My family and I would always go out there with an excuse to buy something for the family dog so we could look at all the animals.
There was a little black puppy bouncing around in the caged run that Matt fell in love with. He was labeled as a German Shepherd x Husky. He was so small with the biggest feet and was undeniably gorgeous. He was nothing that I was after but yet I fell in love with him too. We decided against him, I didn't agree with buying animals in pet stores, and we had just come out for the drive. We drove home and couldn't stop talking about him.
We got home and spoke to Vesa and Tero (who we were living with) and asked them hypothetically if we could get a dog. They were cool with it, and we went to bed still thinking about him. I went to work the next day, chucked a sicky and left about 11am. I drove out there and Matt named him Levi. We called him Levicus, leader and legend of all puppies (or maybe I just called him that) and after an expensive journey of buying the puppy and the miscellaneous items that went with him we brought him home.
He's been through a lot in his short life, he turns 4 on the 12th of July, and he's cost us a lot of money, but I wouldn't change it for the world, he's the most loveable and emo dog. Levi truely is love.

Lucy (Matt's story)
Lucy, what can we say.. She was born in a backyard in Campbelltown in March
3 years ago and joined Ness and I a mere 4 weeks after she was born.
At the time Levi was having surgery performed, so when a very groggy Levi
came home he was met with an ugly ball of fur that he now had to share
his toys with.
Over the years she hasn't changed much appart from developing a strong
escape artist set of skills which has caused Ness and I plenty of heartache.

Lucy (Ness's story)
Lucy came about because I was still yearning for a little fluff ball in my life. A sequence of events occured and by fate we accquired a Shihtzu x 'whatever got in the backyard' for free! It was odd timing as she was ready to come home when Levi was in having his big surgery at Sydney University Vet Hospital. He was quite shocked when he got home but having to lie around in a canvas cage for 6 weeks, I think he really enjoyed the company.
Lucy has been the little love of my life and a great companion for Levi. She's very much adored by all and is not really the princess everyone thinks she is. She's incredibly well behaved for a small brained white fluff ball, I would like to take all the credit for her behaviour but unfortunately I can't, she's just a great dog.

For those who can't get enough of Levi and Lucy, here are photos of them growing up and just being cute

Lexus
I have no idea how we ended up wanting ferrets. Where I got the ferret idea from is a mystery to me, I just remember thinking one day just how awesome ferrets are. I think its that I like the fact that they're a small animal that is incredibly interactive and smart, they are the most misunderstood little creatures. I feel like us owning them, is helping educate people that infact they're the funniest, most craziest and wildest pets you will ever own. Not for the faint hearted are our darling little fuzz balls.

Both the boys came from the NSW Ferret Welfare Society.  Matt and I went to this guys house who had about 20 ferrets in his back sunroom, all under his foster care looking for new homes. We had a play with them and spoke to the guy about them, there was a lot to learn! We went home that night and had a think and a talk about it. I believe we went back to his house about a week later to pick out a ferret to suit us. We fell in love with Lexus, he had some horrible name that I can't recall right now and he was so quiet and shy. He was a cruelty case that the society had rescued from a farmer who wasn't treating him well. His bottom teeth had been cut off by bolt cutters and he certainly wasn't used to gentle handling. But we took him home and loved him and very slowly he started to come out from hiding and play a little, he's still to this day scared of strangers and will hide if anyone new is around, but he's making little amounts of progress and we love him. Such a sweet natured gentle soul that he is!

Rupert
Rupert is our darling little boy who we got a few months after Lexus. I had known for a while that ferrets were much happier when not left alone, and because we didn't have the time to entertain Lexus's 30 second attention span 24 hours a day, why not save another little life and take a second ferret into our care.
And so then came "Fred" who we promptly renamed Rupert. Rupert is a fat lard compared to Lexus and weighs almost twice as much. He's not nearly as agile, and finds it difficult to haul his huge arse up and over the arms of couches but we love him dearly. He was quite a biter when we first got him, and a lot of people that have met him were eager to stay as far away as possible, but in the past few months he really has started to calm down and would rather lick me than take a chunk out of my face, so this is a good step forward. He's a lovely bundle of fluff these days, and whilst he's selectively deaf and loves sleeping in the pots and pans cupboards, he really is a great little guy to have around
