Life with Matthew has never been dull, but I’ve survived long enough to be around to welcome Ness into the family. She’s a very special person and I’m lucky that she’s going to be my daughter in law.
My life these days is full of good food and wine, which is even better being shared with friends and family.I’m enjoying travel in a lot these days and especially walking in our many beautiful National Parks. One of my hobbies is exploring textiles, including garment making and embellishment and I have a rather disconcerting habit of staring at interesting clothes while people are wearing them.
I am really looking forward to having a great time at Ness and Matt’s wedding as another step in their life together.
Phil Postle (Dad)
Hi to all. I’m Phil, Matt’s Dad.
I’ve lived most of my early life in Brisbane, surviving primary and secondary schools there then continuing on to graduate into the teaching profession which I also survived. It was while doing a ‘tour of duty’ in western Queensland where I met Julie, Matt’s Mum. We settled in Townsville where Matt was born and lived there for a decade or so. We moved to Brisbane when Matt was a toddler to be closer to family.
Over the years I’ve indulged my passion for archaeology with trips to , South America and dabbled in screen-printing as an ongoing hobby. Golf was a regular part of my sporting interests until a poorly executed 3-iorn shot off the fairway put paid to an otherwise unspectacular amateur career. Mountain bike riding and pumping iron now keep me off the street. and
Cleaning out a cupboard downstairs recently I discovered a container of firecrackers and a handful of fuses belonging to Matt. We’re forever grateful that he survived many of his more dangerous escapades in one piece to find a warm, friendly, loving and generous partner like Vanessa. It has been very satisfying watching from a distance how Matt’s career has developed and changed over the years.
I am very proud of both Matt and Ness and hope that their special day will indeed be SPECIAL.
[ You both realise that I’ve had to put off my Africa safari because of all this;-)]
