These are our people! Our very special loved people. I know I am incredibly thankful to have all of them in my life and now having them in the bridal party is a dream come true! They've all gone to great lengths to help out and be at appointments on time and just being generally lovely and supportive. There are others I wish could be here, but unfortunatly Matt wouldn't let me have a bridal party of 20, like seriously why not.. who doesn't want their own posse? Haha. I asked them all to write a little blurb about themselves, so without further ado, I present to you our posse, the bridal party!
Best Man - Franklin Taylor
Frank first met Matt through work at Games Workshop, attending many of the now infamous Chippendale parties. He also organised the night were Vanessa and Matt first met... though we're not sure who decided to go over and dance near the pretty girls, he will certainly take credit for it. Frank lived with Matt and Vanessa for over a year, and was apparently one of the "least crazy" flatmates they'd had. He enjoys cooking, DJing and Snowboarding, and will probably be the one getting the most value for money out of the reception bar tab, after his Best Hitman duties are completed of course :)
Chief Bridesmaid - Jenna McConnachie
Jenna has been lucky enough to have known Vanessa since birth. Vanessa's mother, Liz is sister to Jenna's father, Arthur - making Jenna and Vanessa, strangely enough, cousins. The two of them spent a great deal of their childhood together, and forged a close-knit bond which has extended into adulthood. If blood runs thicker than water, and friends are forever, then Vanessa and Jenna are destined to hold a special place in each others lives forever. Some of their best adventures together included roller-blading, creek trecking, thursday night fontana dinners with 2 bottles of wine AND cocktails followed by a night at the Oxford, meeting poet Paul, Vanessa's first clubbing experience and more recently, poolio with the rest of the bridal party. Jenna grew up in Wollongong, and has just recently moved to Melbourne with her poodle to study arts/law at Monash and to grow a lot of vegetables. But even with distance, and difference, Jenna and Vanessa remain close.
Groomsman - Tero Kanko
Tero first has known Matt since he first moved to Sydney. In fact Matt moved onto Tero's couch before they had even properly met. Many nights of beer and Halo forged a strong friendship. Tero was there on the Valentines night that Matt and Vanessa first met a goth club. He's since lived with both and has been through a lot with them.
Tero is currently living in Canada being a snow bum and doesn't really have a plan for the next few years, apart from being a bit of a nomad.
Tero can also make the claim of having to do the most travelling to make it to the wedding.
Bridesmaid - Amelia Bennett
Amelia met Ness and Matt a few years ago when she first began running into them at the same parties and social gatherings through numerous friends in common. It could actually be said that parties and social gatherings (and the occasional beer or five that goes with them) is quite possibly Amelia's favourite pastime!
Originally from the Western Suburbs of Sydney, Amelia maintains her loyalty to bands such as Guns & Roses, Bon Jovi and the like, which creates a special bond between her and Vanessa ;)
She has come to view both Ness and Matt as two of her closest friends and is very happy to be involved in their wedding. Amelia cannot think of a better suited couple than Ness and Matt! Except perhaps for Mike and herself, who are looking forward to their own wedding a month after celebrating Ness and Matts' with them!
Groomsman - Michael Causer
Bridesmaid - Kalina Christova
Born in a place far far away, you know - where the history comes from, Kalina came to this country as a spotty teenager. Not being one of the most popular people at school left her with the usual number of teenage girl hang-ups. She is a true example of the Areas star sign so don't ever tell her that she can't do something. This stubborness paid off when she finished her degree a few years ago and she is now on her way to becoming a "union boss". Right after the wedding that is :) She is also very happy to be involved in this event and that the bride did not make her cry when picking out the dresses :)
Bridesmaid - Lesley Fernandez
Lesley met Ness and Matt through her brother Frank Taylor when he was living with them in Ashfield. A friendship quickly grew between Ness and Lesley partly because of their mutual love for animals and partly just because they got along just so well! Her favourite pastimes are spending time with her family and friends and horse riding. Lesley is striving towards her dream of owning a clothing and music store in Newtown with her husband in the future. Lesley is proud to be doing the make up for the bridal party and honoured to be a bridesmaid. She can't wait for the happy couple to tie the knot!
